Anthony Glasson is a fourth generation producer. The Glasson Family has been breeding Merinos for over 90 years. The past 67 years this has been in the very tough environments of Cunnamulla and Thargomindah. Anthony along with his parents Ian and Lyn started breeding rams for their own use in the mid 2000s. With the ram breeding operation going from strength to strength we believe we had something to offer the industry. Commercially priced, top quality rams bred in a very tough environment on pasture, no crops, no grain feeders. We believe we are breeding sheep that suit the tough, low rainfall environments of Western Queensland and New South Wales.
Produce highly fertile easy care sheep that do not need mulesing, with good quality fleece on their backs.
How we have achieved this:
Fertility: We have been scanning all our ewes since 2005 and all empties are sold. Selecting sires with high fat and muscle.
Mulesing: Selecting sires with straight bodies and bare breech. We ceased mulesing in 2007.
Quality Wool: Selecting sires with long staple, bright, lustrous, deep crimping wool and they must have an exceptional comfort factor. We have been shearing every 8 Months since 2011.
